I've done it for family group sheets, etc. None of the specific software programs on the market allow much customization. In Excel you can block as many cells as you need and use the column line feature to connect together. .....Melissa from Indianapolis

        If you want to just build up a family tree with box text blocks for adding more detail for inclusion in a manuscript then possibly WordPerfect or Microsoft word using either the flow chart functions or adding text functions would suffice for what you want.
        Mind you I believe Family Tree Maker version 11 gives you the ability to adjust the format of ones charts. additionally the book function allows one to build up quite a manuscript.

        Reunion 10 does what you need but it is a Mac software program.
