Just some suggestions for when you are making posts....
- Please give us full names (this includes given, surname and maiden name) along with when and where they were born, married, and died. Please let us know what information you already have and what information specifically you are looking for. It also helps to let us know where you have already searched.
It is also helpful for the archive of this group if your subject line includes the name, dates and locations of who you are asking information about. Then in the future if someone is researching the same name or location, your message will come up in a search. This just benefits both you and the other member in making a connection.
Many of us just love to research and have no problems helping but we do not want to redo what you have already done or give you information you have already gotten. I understand some families are complicated but the more we know the better we are able to help you.
If you have a problem with someone's post, please do not send them a private message berating them on how they worded their post or the information they provided. Your advice comes across as criticism and causes the new member not to want to participate. Either answer the post the best way possible or totally ignore the post. The choice is yours but be forewarned that it can be the cause of being banned from this group.
