Hi everybody, I'm stumped with the following,

      Elmer A Johnson
      b- 20 May 1895 Sweden
d- Nov 1968 Jamestown, New York

      Wife - Carrie Anderson (?)
b - 22 Nov 1896 New York - Her parents were from Sweden

Mother - Wilhel Johnson - no information after coming to US
      b - 1866 Sweden

      Brother - Walter Johnson
      b - 23 Dec 1893
      d - April 1974

Father - Unknown at this time

They came to the US Oct 14, 1896, from Liverpool & Queenstown port on the Majestic. If anyone could find where Elmer was from in Sweden it would be great. I also can't find Elmer in the 1900, 1910, or the 1920 census.

      Thanks for any help, Barb

        Barb -

The mother's name "Wilhel" is listed in the ship's log as "Wilhel^a"
where the ending "a" is superscript (the Majestic, 14 Oct 1896
arrived NY,NY from Liverpool). That is the abbreviation
for "Wilhelmina" (female form of Wilhelm/William; my gggmother's
name); nicknames were Minnie, Mina, Willie, Helen.

NOTE: ship's log also viewable at http://www.ellisisland.org/

In the 1930 census, Elmer is flagged as a Veteran -
so there should be a draft registration and a military record.

What happened to WALTER or WILHEL'A Johnson? I don't know.
