Two events this week sponsored by NESEA (Northeast Sustainable
Energy Association) that might be of interest to you

1 ) Energy and National Security Public Forum (3/12/03 at 7pm) - FREE
With a looming war in Iraq and in the wake of the September 11th
attacks, it has become more urgent to take steps to ensure America has
an adequate, secure supply of energy and to make the nation's energy
system less vulnerable to terrorism or other disruptions. But what is
possible, both technically and politically? How can advocates of
sustainable energy best address national security issues? An impressive
list of individuals (including Christopher Flavin, the President of the
Worldwatch Institute) moderated by Jeb Sharp of the BBC-WGBH radio
program "The World" will discuss these and other relatedtopics. There
will be an opportunity for questions and comments from the audience.
This forum is free and open to the public.

WHEN AND WHERE: Wednesday, March 12th from 7 PM to 9 PM in Building 34
(50 Vassar Street) at MIT. Read more at

      2) Governor Romney at Opening Plenary (3/13/03 at 8:30am - 10am) - $30
Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney will speak as part of the Opening
Plenary session at the Building Energy Conference. The Governor's
welcoming remarks will add to what is already an outstanding plenary
session, with a keynote address by Christoper Flavin, the President of
the Worldwatch Institute, and remarks by Robert L. Pratt (Director of
the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative's Renewable Energy Trust)
and Vicky Sirianni (Chief Facilities Office for MIT). This opening
plenary costs $30 and is open to the public.

WHEN AND WHERE: Thursday, March 13th from 8:30am to 10 am at the Boston
Park Plaza Hotel. To learn more or to sign up online go to
