A special mention for this day, and worth noting in terms of the game show genre and its history.

Legendary television game show producer and creator Bob Stewart was born back then 99 years ago on Friday, August 27, 1920 in Brooklyn, New York.  Through his leadership, insight and inventive mind, Bob developed and created some of the most iconic and influential game shows in the broadcasting industry.  When he was employed for Goodson-Todman, he brought forth the ideas and concepts of "The Price Is Right", "To Tell The Truth" and "Password".

Under his own independent production company, Bob devised some very challenging and entertaining formats on such shows like (as examples) "Eye Guess", "Personality", "Three On A Match", "Jackpot!" and "Chain Reaction".  Of course, his most successful hit series to date was the various dollar amounts versions of the "Pyramid" game series, which all began in March 1973 with a top cash prize payoff of $10,000.

Bob Stewart with some of the shows he was to oversee and produce under his watch are mainly highly regarded in the television business, from the colleagues he worked with in the industry, to the fans who have watched them regularly on the home screen.  Simply put, Bob was put the concept of "game" in the term "game show".

All hail and bow to Bob Stewart, the true mastermind leader of "Pyramid"!

      Sincerely,
      William A. Padron
