- May 4Forty years ago on Friday, May 4, 1979, an episode of "The $20,000 Pyramid" was aired on ABC-TV daytime. Hosted by Dick Clark, and featuring guest celebrities Billy Crystal and Sal Viscuso, the big highlight had to be this nail-biter of the first Winner's Circle round played out there. It had most likely left the viewers, such as yours truly, so amazed and breathless after watching it.Here is the clip from that episode, taken from a GSN repeat showing.Also, this message post is dedicated to the memory of both host Dick Clark and executive producer-creator Bob Stewart, who each had gone to their final rest into eternity within a few weeks of each other seven years ago. Dick passed away at age 82 on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, and Bob was gone at age 91 on Friday, May 4, 2012. Those two gentlemen are so sorely missed to this day.Sincerely,William A.
