Subject: [fulldome] Shows that deal (at least in part) with race

      Hi everyone,

In 2013 the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts,
will be hosting as its theme semester, the issue of race. This will be broadly
focused but will include the origins of "race," what makes us different, and are
we that different at all, etc.

Naturally I have been asked how the dome might fit into this theme. It isn't
immediately obvious to me how I would do that. It was decided that trying to
use our two culturally-related shows would focus too much attention on two
cultures and not be broad enough.

So that begs the question of what is out there that might apply? A more
broad-based cultural program (we can't cover everything, obviously) or maybe a
biology-based show, genetics, etc. I'm really not sure what to expect.

I would appreciate any tips or suggestions anyone would have.

      Regards,
