      There has been some interest in real time warping of fisheye frames for spherical mirror style full dome projection. The basic idea is that you have your movie in one format only, the different output projections are created on the fly ... for example, truncated fisheye, warped fisheye, and perspective projections.

      An initial release has just been made available of such a thing, that is, it takes as input a QuickTime movie and plays it while distorting the frames, for example, the distortion required for spherical mirror projection. As it happens the application does many other things including navigation during playback, support for movies based on other projections, and different navigation modes, and so on.
