Jason, the "personal attacks" I mentioned were from your communications
in this forum. Certainly that's what they looked like to me. I now
understand that you felt others were attacking you as well.
The other discussion group I mentioned may be long gone from the net,
but you will probably recall it, if you think back a couple of years. It
was a time-limited discussion of an Australian documentary series (I
forget the title). I think I have the right Jason, unless there are two
Jason Stewarts in Australia who have strong views regarding Australian
aboriginal groups and how they should be named.
Those details may not be important, though. Now that I know you a bit
better from your most recent posts, I don't think that you'd find
anything wrong with what you said and how you said it. For you, these
are usual modes of discourse. I do find it offensive, but we are
different people. Suffice it to say that the message you intend to put
out is not necessarily the message others receive. That is a good lesson
for you, for me, or for anybody else. I'll take your word for it that
the intent behind your words is good.
May I suggest olive branches all around? A general amnesty would be
appropriate to this season (or any other, for that matter). Let us
return to gardening and gathering. We have already spent far too much
time on interpersonal issues in this little group, and too little time
on our primary business, much to the distress of some.
