The one thing I totally suggest with a bedroom tank is a canister filter. I put a tank in my bedroom with a HOB filter, that got changed the next day. I couldn't handle the water flowing into the tank. A canister is a LOT quieter!

Hello everyone! I am new to your forum and hope to be able to grow in this new hobby . I'll tell you a little more about myself , I have a Cockatoo,an Eclectus and an Amazon and three cockatiels and a dog (a lab)
I have a 20 gallon aquarium set up in my bird room. I have 7 guppies and 6 baby guppies in there. I love that tank.Today a friend gave me(at a great price) a 55 gallon hex tank. I'm very excited but I haven't set it up yet and I also haven't decided what kind of fish I will have in it. I have decided I want it in my bedroom. I am not great with fish as I have tried to have guppies a few times and was not very successful ,this is the first time I have a great tank and I'm happy so I want to have two great tanks now:)I will set up the tank tomorrow and try to decide what kind of fish should go in it. I would like a soothing tank of course since it will be in my room.Any recommendations would be appreciated. I will try to set up an album here and show of my guppies.
