      Only this: as a native of one of the states to which Californian refugees have been fleeing, I've observed that, while they're happy to leave behind the taxes and resultant high cost of living, they're just as happy to bring with them their Socialistic mind-set. Come to think of it, I wonder if there's a correlation between that and my state's insidious creep toward sharing the wealth.

      As we all know, the state of California is in terrible financial
      state, and furthermore, they suffer from more laws than any other
      state. Smoking bans in public, gun bans, regulation, taxes on
      everything, etc.. I have a friend in LA and he can't wait to get out
      of there.

      Many other Californians are fleeing the state in droves (mostly
      because of taxes). Many of the Western states that border California
      have been taking in the California refugees. [end snip]
