This is the biweekly FAQ and guidelines for the [freestateproject] Yahoo discussion group.

      Last Update: 10/17/02

This Yahoo Group, available as either email list or web forum, is fully moderated and is intended for business and issues specific to FSP and its implementation.

Remember, the goal of the FSP is to get 20,000 libertarian minded people to a single state. What they do there is up to them, not the FSP (although we might have a few ideas). Therefore, FSP-related topics are those related to getting people to join the FSP, advertising the FSP, fundraising, local meetings, etc.

For a description of all FSP lists/forums available, please see:
      http://www.freestateproject.org/forumdesc.htm

All posts are moderated. Some posting guidelines:

      Please do not:

** POST WITHOUT READING THE FAQ FIRST; many questions are answered there, and have already been discussed many times.
      http://www.freestateproject.org/faqs.htm

** Start a personal conversation on the open forum
If you are interested in replying offline, please do so.

** Post articles or links of general libertarian interest
There are plenty of lists/forums of general libertarian interest; this is not one of them. The Yahoo libertarians group or FSPcrackerbarrel are some options for more general discussions.

      ** Sell anything
No plugging pet projects, miracle cures, MLM, etc., unless specifically approved by the FSP Board and is FSP-related merchandise.

      ** Get offended and quit!
Remember that on the Internet it's difficult to discern people's emotions or attitudes. If someone disagrees with you, that does not mean he dislikes or disrespects you. We encourage a spirit of friendly debate here, on the topics that are appropriate for this group.

** Post messages having to do with state choice
Debates about which state the Free State Project ought to choose and posts relating to state research have in the past drowned out everything else on this list. Therefore, these are now considered off topic and should be dealt with on the web forum:
      http://forum.freestateproject.org
Or you can email jason.sorens@... if you have ideas for State Research.

Off-topic posts will be rejected by the moderator. Further blatant disregard for group standards may result in banning, although we hate to do that.

Please feel free to send comments/questions to:
      info@....

      Welcome aboard!
