FSP News - August 2011The FSP needs a Google Apps Admin!
The Free State Project needs your help! The IT team is in need of a
volunteer Google Apps admin, with the following responsibilities:

      1. Administer FSP mailing groups like Doers, Organizers, etc.
Responsible for adding and removing group members.
      2. Manage FSP mail accounts. Back accounts up when they are retired.
      Create new accounts as needed.
      3. Provide general Gmail and GApps support, e.g. password resets,
assistance in using the tools, etc.
In addition, there are a number of small projects waiting in the queue:
      1. Guide the transition of FSP mailing groups to Google (already in
      progress).
      2. Clean up and repurpose unused email accounts.
      3. Drive adoption of GMail and Google Apps as the standard platform
      for FSP business
All you need is a can-do attitude, and an interest in technology. No
prior experience required - you'll work with teammates experienced in
Google Apps. This is a great opportunity to get experience (you can put
on your resume) with the new "Business Operating System" that's taking
over the world.Report lists new pro-liberty NH laws
Are you a policy wonk or aspiring statistician? If so, you will love the
2011 New Hampshire Liberty Related Bills Report
      <http://freestateblogs.net/node/12690> . The Report lists the 2011
pro-liberty related bills that are now law in NH. While the FSP does not
get involved in politics, some people that moved to NH as part of the
FSP are involved in politics. Some of those people were the authors and
primary sponsors of some of the pro-liberty bills listed in the Report.
The FSP monthly sign-up statistics are available
Check out the monthly sign-up statistics
      <http://freestateproject.org/about/membership/signup_stats> broken down
by the various ways people learn about the FSP. The top reason given so
far this year by new FSP participants is John Stossel. The March 24th
      edition <http://www.youtube.com/embed/evraJp70CUs> of Stossel's self
titled TV show on Fox Business covered the FSP. Thank you John Stossel
for being the number one recruit for the FSP so far this year.

4 of the 50 most visited libertarian websites are based in NH, according
      to a DBKP Report <http://deathby1000papercuts.com/dbkpreport/> . They
are: Free Talk Live <http://www.freetalklive.com/> , The Free State

      Action of the Month
Ask three people you know to become a Friend of the Free State Project
<https://freestateproject.org/join> . A Friend is someone that likes the
idea of the FSP. If someone signs up as a Friend, it just means that
they like the FSP. There is no commitment for a Friend to move to NH or
      do anything else.

Some of you may be scared by the idea of asking someone you know to
announce that they support your cause, but the reward is more than worth
it. You likely know people right now that support liberty. Maybe they
have wanted to be a Friend of the FSP for a long time but they were
waiting for you to mention it to them. Maybe they didn't know they had
the option of just becoming a Friend and not a full-fledged Participant.
Give the people you know that option.

Go ahead. Take a chance. Spread the word. Get someone else excited about
the FSP and signed up to receive the FSP News, this newsletter, by
becoming a Friend of the FSP. Feel free to make suggestions or comments
      on the FSP Forum

      Website of the Month
      JobsinNH.com <http://www.jobsinnh.com/> - JobsinNH.com is a great
website to help you find a, you guessed it, job in NH. The website is
about helping people find jobs in NH. One of the biggest issues with
moving to NH is finding a job in NH. Right now is a great time to move
to NH. You might want to check it out :)
      Facebook Page of the Month
Live Free or Die Rally <https://www.facebook.com/LiveFreeOrDieRally> -
The Live Free or Die Rally bills itself as "the NH annual Live Free or
Die Rallys are non partisan, non aligned, non profit, non sponsored
annual gatherings welcoming equally the public, all pro constitution and
liberty minded ideologies or organizations under one tent on common
ground with supporting the first amendment, rights to gather, exhibit
with redress through freedom of speech." The Facebook page provides
information on relevant events, photos and more for the several day long
Rally or festival, if you will. The main volunteer behind the Rally
posts of the Facebook page so if you have a question, feel free to ask
him. BTW, the Rally is quickly approaching with a start date of August
25th and an end date of August 28th.
<http://freestateproject.org/> The Free State Project is an effort to
recruit 20,000 liberty-loving people to move to New Hampshire. We are
looking for neighborly, productive, tolerant folks from all walks of
life, of all ages, creeds, and colors who agree to the political
philosophy expressed in our Statement of Intent, that government exists
at most to protect people's rights, and should neither provide for
people nor punish them for activities that interfere with no one else.

The Free State Project (FSP) is an effort to recruit 20,000 pro-liberty
activists to move to New Hampshire, where they will exert the fullest
practical effort toward the creation of a society in which the maximum
role of government is the protection of life, liberty and property. The
work of creating and sustaining such a society in New Hampshire is the
job of residents, including project participants, not the Free State
      Project itself.

The FSP does not endorse any specific changes to government or
strategies to achieve them. The FSP does not take positions on issues,
candidates, legislation, places to move within New Hampshire, tactics or
methods of action. The one stipulation the FSP does make is that people
who promote violence, racial hatred, or bigotry are not welcome.

Reporting by the FSP on participant activity or NH events on the
website, in the newsletter, or in any other place does not represent
support or endorsement and may not portray the diversity of opinions and
      activities that exists among participants.
