Re: [FSP] Free from MA!
- In reply to both Karen and Cindy:
Is it wrong for an artist of incredible talent to create a painting
and then sell it for a lot of money? Do you begrudge the fact that he
can draw prettier pictures than others? Should he be looked down on,
or be forced to draw mediocre slop like the average individual -- to
'make it fair for everyone'? Should his pictures be taken away from
him in proportion to his brilliance?
Why then does society punish entrepeneurs for creating successful
capital-generating machines called companies? No one is forced to work
for them. No one is forced to buy from them. But people do, freely,
willingly, because the machines work!
And yet you hate them. You call them thieves and misers. And then you
get government to steal their money and equipment. If these men and
their machines are really evil, why don't you create something better?
Where are the better, kinder, more efficient machines of socialism? I
see only savagery, repression, and primitivism as examples of their
work. Show me otherwise and you have a convert.
- MIKE: Depends on what sort of corporation you are talking about. Which government is registering the incorporation? Lets say you form a Delaware corporation but it does business in NH. Why should you pay NH corporate taxes when NH had nothing to do with your incorporation?
Bob: Probably shouldn't, and I don't believe they do now. They do pay federal corporate taxes, and I'm OK with that, in concept. Off the top of my head, I'd much prefer something far simpler, like a very low rate on revenues as a trade off for limited liability, but we've got enough fish to fry in NH. Put it far down the to do list.
