I decided to upgrade alice to run Debian "etch" I suppose it will be
stable and secure enough, and the packages are a lot newer. I was
briefly thinking about sid... but no, I'm not quite that insane yet :p
we're now running a bittorrent tracker and able to seed so we can host
large files by that method if anyone would want to do that. they've got
to be legal and decent though.
I've copied the old configurations that we were using with mandy and
beatrice on to alice, and I'm expecting this will be useful to help
configure various services again, such as mail.
I installed blosxom because I'd like a blog and it's nice and geeky :)
can publish a blog entry just by editing a text file and saving it, I'm
sure we could do other tricks with it too. my blog is here
:p for example :)
also ftpd is running now, it requires ssl for connection.
I hope we can set up imap & pop3 https etc soon, and on govinda
