Group Description
This is the mailing list for the Ippan Shadan Houjin Foreign Residents And Naturalized Citizens Association (Japan) (FRANCA) (Nihon Eijuu Kika Imin Juumin Kyoukai, or "Imin Juumin Kyoukai" for short).
We have created a registered organization to lobby for and promote the interests of Japan's immigrant community.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Foreign Residents' And Naturalized Citizens Association (FRANCA) Japan commits itself to
1) equal and nondiscriminatory treatment for all foreign residents and naturalized citizens in Japan;
2) their fair representation and inclusion in Japan's economic and social processes;
3) the promotion of positive perceptions of non-Japanese peoples and multiple cultures in Japanese society.
OUR GOALS:
1) To eliminate negative public images of non-Japanese and multi-cultural Japanese.
2) To eliminate discrimination by race, nationality, ethnicity, and national origin.
3) To highlight the benefits of immigration and a multi-cultural society.

FRANCA as been formally registered with the Japanese government as an Ippan Shadan Houjin (kaisha houjin bangou 4300-05-005413) as of July 2009. If you would like to join us, annual dues are 10,000 yen with mailing list access and voting rights, or 5000 yen for mailing list access but not voting rights. Corporate donations are 30,000 yen per annum.
