As far as I know, languages are grouped in "families". For example, the only
one I can think of right off the top of my head is the Sino-Tibetan family, which
includes Chinese, Tibetan and a couple other languages. Also I know that
Japanese, Korean, Mongolian are related to the Turkish language. I believe
their family name is something like Altic something. Hope that helps.
