      All,

below are sad news about two bicyclist deaths in Pasadena last week.
      The accounts are from www.pasadenastarnews.com.
Yesterday there was a memorial ride for the second killed bicyclist who
had been a local musician and bicycle advocate. I was not able to attend,
I believe there are plans to go to the City Council with demands for improving
      bicycle infrastructure in Pasadena.

Ride carefully, with extra dose of awareness to your surroundings and safety.

      Branislav

      Bicyclist killed in Pasadena hit-and-run

PASADENA - An Alhambra man was arrested after he allegedly ran over a woman who fell off her bicycle early Sunday morning.
The woman later died of her injuries at a local hospital.

Nicholas Avila, 21, was booked on suspicion of hit-and-run and driving under the influence, said Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema

He was being held at Pasadena police jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Hettema said a 24-year-old Oregon woman and her boyfriend were riding their bicycles in the 200 block of Los Robles Avenue shortly after 1 a.m., Sunday.

The woman fell off her bicycle and was struck by a vehicle as she's lying on the street, Hettema said. The driver didn't stop.

Hettema said a witness followed the hit-and-run vehicle to Alhambra and called police. The driver was then arrested.

PASADENA - A man was killed Thursday night when his bicycle and a car collided.
The 61-year-old died of his injuries at Huntington Memorial Hospital, said Pasadena Lt. Pete Hettema. He said the bicyclist wasn't wearing a helmet.

The man's name wasn't released because his family hadn't been notified yet.

Hettema said the crash happened at 6:13 p.m. at Colorado Boulevard and Terrace Drive.

The bicyclist was riding eastbound on the sidewalk of Colorado Boulevard. He collided in the crosswalk with an Audi making a left turn from westbound Colorado Boulevard.

Hettema said the driver, a 29-year-old Pasadena man, stayed at the scene. He wasn't injured.
