Group Description


Explore the history and genealogy of residents of Des Moines and Henry County, IA residents that went to CA in 1850 on the Flint River Company of 1850 wagon train. The group will be a place to distribute the newsletter and make available research sources for its articles. The newsletter cronicles the journey to California, the mining experience, the return trip, life afterward and the lives of the wagon train members and thier descendants. It is open to descendant of members of the wagon train and researchers of this wagon train and other wagon trains from Iowa to the California Gold Rush.
