      Rita telephoned me yesterday to say how much she loved the flowers, and asked me to please send her thanks to everyone who contributed to the purchase of the flowers.
       
      We discussed whether or not she might send Thank-You cards to everyone who contributed, but I felt that this would be an undue burden on Rita.  As it is, she already sends individual Christmas cards to us.  I felt that there was no need to burden her with the responsibility of sending out Thank-You cards for the flowers.
       
      She also said that the voice-over work that she did last Friday was for a documentary featurette about director Richard Lester, for the forthcoming Criterion blu-ray release of "A Hard Days Night".  Rita is one of Richard Lester's best friends, and is an ideal choice to narrate a documentary about Richard.
       
      She also said that Aisha and Alex (her daughter and son-in-law) are considering a move to a new location.

              Thank you to everyone who contributed towards the cost of Rita's birthday flowers.  Two bouquets of white and yellow roses were delivered to Rita's flat in London today.  Rita emailed to say,

              "Dear Robert, I have just arrived home to the most beautiful flowers, thank you so much they are stunning.  I am so touched that you fans are always so thoughtful, I had a lovely day with the family and we had an early supper at Fortnum & Mason.  Have a lovely weekend.  Love to everyone, Rita"

                Even though I assured Rita that she need not write any Thank You notes for the flowers -- as we fans thought that it would be too much of a burden on her -- she nonetheless has written Thank You notes to everyone who contributed towards the cost of the flowers.  She said,

                "I posted the thank you cards yesterday, the ones in the U K should be received today, I hope it won't take too long for the U S ones to arrive."

                "We are off to the [Richard] Lester's [in Brighton] for Easter, some good sea air, Dylan and Willow love it there.  Have a lovely Easter. Love, Rita"

                              We sent her a vibrant tinted orchid (photo: left, front), a twin-stemmed phalaenopsis (center, rear), and a Miltonia orchid (right, front), along with a bouquet of mixed roses which Rita has evidently divided among three vases.
