      It's not.  By the time the producer of CASINO ROYALE got around to making the movie all the elements of the book had been used in the Connery series, so the producer decided to do a send-up of Bond and just makeup an entirely new story -- only he didn't bother coming up with one.  That's why the movie is a mess.

      With all this talk about revamping the Bond franchise and bringing it back to
      its roots, I always had this notion that a faithful version of the "Casino
      Royale" novel would someday be the way to go. Is this even a remote
      possibility?


      No.  The book, I assume, is badly dated by now.
