      the Mapping function works ONLY where data is on
      another computer. You can't map a drive to itself.

      You must use "subst U: C:\fhlc\R1" or such on the
      computer that has the data in the autoexec.bat or
      program's startup batch file.

      If your operation system is Win ME or later, then
      you need to download vsubst.exe and use it to make
      registry changes that do the same as the subst
      command.
