With all the discussion around Deep Freeze I have to ask do I need it?
I have a seven computer FHC and have had few issues that make me wish
I had it. Why do I want it?

I had a church provided Dell on which the hard drive failed. I have a
FH Dept CD with XP on it. It automatically installed Deep Freeze.

How do I remove it? Is it as simple to go into Remove Programs and do
it? Is there a file with a procedure?

For those of you using Deep Freeze on your PC's, can you tell me whether you installed it using the custom/manual method, or, did you let it install using the default? I understand that the default installs the way support would like it, but, it controls the time of day for shutdown, etc. I'd like to know which you found to best for you and why.

        Thanks

We unfreeze them two weeks for updates, also run the DPCustomCfg.exe file so
they will update with the LANDesk.

We have 8 computers for patrons and one locked for staff. I installed
Deep Freeze on all of the patron computers manually.

I recorded the steps I took. If you look into the archived emails, you
will find the step I took in an email dated Nov 3, 2008. I also,
included steps for deleting and maintaining deep freeze in that email.

We have had no problems, (expect the one noted in the email with
Inventory Manager, and how I resolved the problem) so it is working for
              us.
