      Programmer Analyst - Network Engineer – 0800629

      Description:
      * Is given only general direction and is a member of a project,
      support or maintenance team.
      * He/She assists in analyzing current operations and develops
      solutions to problems identified.
      * The incumbent designs, develops and tests programs.
      * The Programmer/Network Engineer has a thorough understanding of
      system analysis, design principles and the hardware and software
      which will be used for the system. The incumbent may work as a
      Systems Quality Engineer to guarantee quality software solutions.
      He/She builds test plans and test scripts, performs code inspections
      and verifies compliance to standards.

      Percent of Time:
      * 30% Performs programming support which includes problem solving,
      writing new and enhancements to existing applications
      * 30% Performs advanced troubleshooting of desktop management
      software implemented over the Internet to remote family history
      centers
      * 15% Ensures proper testing which includes testing program
      results, program functionality, user specifications and predefined
      standards by adhering to system design standards.
      * 10% Provides documentation which includes user training guides,
      program documentation, and knowledge base documents
      * 15% Coordination & training to tier 3 support personnel on
      projects and applications, and issue escalation resource

      Qualifications:
      * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
      * Either:
      - Six years of relevant application development experience in a
      computer related field with good networking & troubleshooting skills
      background; or
      - Six years of experience providing advanced support to product
      (s) and have developed solutions to difficult process/product
      problems using programming skills.
      * Experience in database programming, SQL, PL/SQL, maintenance,
      optimization
      * Strong oral/written communication skills.
      * Strong interpersonal skills.
      * Strong technical, analytical and decision skills
      * Understanding of systems analysis and design principles
      * Able to adapt to and use multiple hardware and software
      platforms.
      * Has demonstrated the ability to operate under deadlines and is
      subject to heavy work loads
      * Competent to design and implement small to medium complex
      systems.
      * Ability to analyze, breakdown and understand complex problems and
      communicate solutions
      * A good mixture of the following skills and certifications are
      recommended:
      - Microsoft (MCSE), Cisco (CCNA) and other industry related
      certifications
      - Good working knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols
      - Highly developed troubleshooting skills combined with superior
      customer handling skills
      - Ability to consider system-wide views of issues as opposed to
      product-only troubleshooting
      - Experience with end to end functionality of complex networking
      environments

      Other skills that will lead to success:
      * Ability to train, coach and mentor others
      * Enjoys learning new technologies and tools in a fast-paced work
      environment
      * Ability to prioritize daily workload
      * Candidates must have superior human relations skills,
      demonstrating an ability to diffuse difficult situations requiring
      sensitivity and professionalism. They have demonstrated by their
      experience the ability to work effectively with other engineers to
      solve problems and educate the support staff in the best processes
      and practices in solving problems.

      Requirements:
      * Location: SLC, UT
      * Must be a member and have a current temple recommend.
