RE: [fhctech] sloooowww computers
- Let me understand here - are you saying that you see 100% CPU utilization in the performance tab, but when you look to see where it's going, it's mostly going to "System Idle Process"?I mean, SIP at 98% isn't abnormal, but then you should see the CPU utilization graph at 2%.Note that there are a number of things that can slow the machine way down that won't show as high CPU utilization. It may be eating up another resource, such as disk access. Or perhaps some kind of lock that has to time out. Thanks for the additional info on Sytem Idle Process. That was exactly what was indicated when our computers were slow (the SIP at 98%). It was like whatever was consuming the resources was invisible, we could see no indication of anything running that shouldn't have been, thus the concern about what to do.

- Because of the time differences, our FHC in Venezuela (Maracay) is almost always open during SLC office hours. Yet our scan history is also empty. We did a manual scan once (compete) and set up a schedule so our computers are the ones that initiate the scan while we are open, and not another automated (or human) arrangement far away (or nearby). Since we are open on Saturdays, we programmed the scan to occur after we close and leave the computers on all night. Next morning, right before Church meetings we walk in and shut the machines down. So far it works.Roberto Galindo

(We are closed during the scheduled time.) That was corrected with manual scans today. Also, one of the computers was not up to date on the Antivirus definitions and I had to manually run the update for that as well.Rebecca Christensen
