      Fellow FHC Computer Specialists...

In a recent conversation I had with Salt Lake's FHC Technical Support people, I had mentioned that it would be nice to not have to go into the family history center to do my maintenance on the computers, especially if someone calls me with a problem that has to be fixed now; in other words, it would be nice to take care of the problem from my home computer. IT CAN BE DONE, AND NOW I'M DOING SO!

I would like to suggest that you investigate a FREE program called, LogMeIn. You can read more about it at their website:

To read a review of the product, you can read about it at the following website:

There are several variations of the program, with their individual merits, but the FREE version does just about everything I need to do. The pay versions are "out of our league". I consider the free version a joy to use and prevents me from having to travel long distances when one of the staff calls to say there's a problem with "computer so-and-so" that needs to be fixed now. I can now fix it from home!

As far as I can tell, I can only log on to one computer at a time, so I mainly use the program for fixing a problem. I still go in on Fridays to do my regular maintenance; but if I can log on to all eight, I won't even need to do that. I'll let you know if there is a way. This is one SLICK tool.

      Enjoy!

      Sincerely,
