My Marissa was diagnosed with FHV when her eye was stained to reveal
      a large corneal ulcer.

After debridement, the board certified ophthamologist put her on
Trifluridine ointment every four hours as he said the virus
replicates every four hours. Is that true?

Also was given Choloramphenicol ointment -- however after told it
had bone marrow side effects I declined it as my cat also has plasma
cell myeloma (bone marrow cancer). So then I was given Tetracycline
ointment to apply three times a day.

      I also administer L-Lysine 250 mg. 2x a day.

After 5 days on treatment there is NO APPARENT IMPROVEMENT.

Is this a normal course of treatment? If not, what do your vet eye
specialists recommend? How long does it take to see improvement? If
no improvement, does cat go blind? My Marissa appears to be in great
      pain.

Any feedback would be greatly welcomed. Thanks,

      Lee
