      Subject: [FH] George not well

I posted for the first time a few weeks ago and I am sad to report
that George has not rallied like I had hoped, despite his heart meds.
He is still not eating on his own and is now fighting me at force
feeding...gagging and having breathing trouble. He has stopped
drinking on his own as well. He is just a shadow of his former self
now and it is breaking my heart. I will call my vet on Monday and
talk with him, but I know the time to make some decisions has come.
He seems so tired, like he has given up already...he is just fading
      before my eyes.

Last night as I was praying and crying over George, Little Bear had
some sort of seizure. She is 12 years old and was diagnosed with
mammary adenocarcinoma 3 years ago. She had a radical chain
mastectomy and has been tumor free for 2 1/2 years. But when the
cancer came back, it came back with a vengance, rapidly spreading
along the breast chain and ulcerating. It is in the lymph nodes as
well. She was on the table and then started flailing around like
something unseen was attacking her. She fell from the table to the
chair, then to the floor by the time I was able to get to her. I
touched her gently to settle her and she looked at me like she didn't
know who I was or where she was. I spoke to her and stroked her
until it subsided, but then since then she has walked with a
definite tilt to her head (to the right side...the side that the
cancer is on) and if she jumps or scratches she has a tendency to
fall to the right side. It has not happened again, but I need to ask
the vet about this as well...I expect that the cancer has spread to
      the nervous system.

I just keep crying. I will post more when I speak with the vet.
Right now I am just ovewelmed and so filled with grief. Please keep
      us in your prayers.
