A little good news from Maggie
- Dear all (sorry for the wide distibution, but Maggie has many friends :) ),
Just wanted to share a little good news for a change - looks like the
increased Epogen dosage is working for Miss Maggie May - on 9/19 her PCV was
16.3, on 10/3 it had climbed to 21 (YEAAHHHH)! Once again, you folks have
helped to pull off another miracle - thanks to all who answered my questions
about Epogen doses (the Doc agreed w/ increasing the doses after I called
him w/ Plumb's recommended dosage). Cindy, you now have been credited with
keeping two notches off of Maggie's 9-lives bedpost!
Now we are ready for the needle biopsy and endescopy to check out the
enlarged lymph node, scheduled for Wed am. We're nervous, but hopeful.
Feeling good tonight,
Pam and Maggie
P.S. Thanks Mary, Anyes and Jim also for your inputs on CRF and HF and
fluids - Maggie's specialist didn't feel she was dehydrated (and she was
looking especially good just for him). He also reminded me that she was a
very rare case - her RCM was in the right side (fluid buildup in the tummy,
not lungs) and she has normal BP (142), but he will talk to Maggie's
cardiologist who we also see next Wednesday whether it would be OK to give
small amounts "as needed". Mary, I have made notes on your suggestions to
discuss then. I *really* appreciate everyone's good advice and concern!!!
