The only other treatment is using Tapazole. My cat, Munchie, has been on Tapazole for more than two years. She also has kidney and heart problems, so there was never a question of surgery or the I-131 treatment for her. Giving Munchie a small piece of pill twice a day is very simple. Tapazole does help the heart because it slows the thyroid activity.

If it turned out she was hyper-T, is it possible that there is a
treatment other than surgery and that radioiodine treatment for the
thyroid condition that would improve how her heart and kidneys are
