I highly recommend this too. It only cost me $50 for
my specialist to consult w/ the cardiologist. The
cardiologist ordered add'l views of the heart (at no
charge - still waiting on the results). I feel much
better knowing that a thorough exam was done. I lost
one baby to HCM (Pooh) and now his litter mate (Bear)
has been diagnosed. I really wish I had the
consultation done on Pooh. I felt like I didn't have
the right information to make the decisions that
needed to be made at the time. Now that I'm better
informed I'm able to take much better care of Bear.

My regular vet consults with a cardiologist at the
      Animal Medical
Center in New York. He shares Morris' records and test
      results with
an AMC cardiologist. He also has a technician come to
      his office and
      do echocardiograms there.
