Oh my Lyn!!    I am so sorry to hear all this.   When it rains, it pours . . . doesn't it?    We will be sending up lots of paw prayers for you and the furkids.

Regarding Gus and possible asthma . . . my Sheba (heart kitty) also has feline asthma and she does have a lot of nasal discharge.  But she is also a flat faced himalayan.

I have extra Flovent inhalers Lyn.   I am happy to mail one to you if you like to try them to see if they help Gus.  Sheba's  response to treatment confirmed her asthma diagnosis  (along with chest Xray).

        Please let me know,

            Hi all

Thankyou for all the lovely thoughts and best wishes. Milli went for her follow up and her breathing rate is better. We are cautiously reducing the lasix and keeping the vetmedin dose up. But she also had a temperature today, so had some metacam and is currently eating and eating!

Gus, waiting for all the results to come in. Should be the next few days and we'll get answers. I saw his xrays and the donuts on them!

            :) Lyn.

I call those holes or starburst images on the lungs...you call them ''donut'' holes...regardless of what they are called, they are terrifying. What is the suspected cause and/or treatment? In my Izzy's case it was simply referred to as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (ipf), searched the US for specialists to advise, found no treatment available.

                Hi

Thankyou for all the suggestions. It turns out Augustus has Pseudomonas. We're waiting for the tonsil polyp biopsy and allergy results and then starting his Marbocyl antibiotic injected daily. My vet is also looking into a possible nasal drain tube where the antibiotic can possibly go straight into the sinus but it's looking unlikely to be asthma. I know this is off topic, but a lot of you wanted to know.
Milli is doing well on her lasix, now reduced to 10mg twice a day and has recovered her heart failure and was shouting at the vet again this morning when she went with a snotty cold! I wish we could fix her middle ear infection though, she's still on antibiotic and metacam for that.

                Lyn:)
