      Hello there,

Just wondering if anyone here would know how to read/interprete HCM test results?

My cat was tested negative (she was tested as a precaution before breeding, not because she was showing symptoms) but I am just curious what's a 'good' score and what's 'oops, getting close there!'.

This is what the paper says (echocardiogram by specialist):

      IVSd 4.1mm 2.5 (2D)
      LVd 12.9
      LVWd 2.7 3.0 (2D)
      IVSs 6.4
      LVs 7.4
      LVWs 4.5
      FS 43%
      LA 7.9 12.6 (2D)
      AO 6.9
      LA/AO 1.15

      Thank you in advance:)

        Hi

The main result is the thickness of the left side of the heart .That
        determines HCM.

        Quoted from
        http://samedicine.anzcvs.org.au/samedicine_assets/documents/2012%20proceedings/Campbell%20ANZCVS%202012.pdf

The key morphologic feature of HCM is a concentrically hypertrophied
non-dilated left ventricle (LV) where diastolic interventricular septal or free
wall thickness is 6 mm or greater.

This would be the LVWd reading I assume? They use different initials on the
scans I have. They usually take the thickest value.
