This is excellent news -- you are doing everything right! If you think he might be associating the pain with the Friskies, try something else & see what

He's having some inappetence issues . She said his mouth looked excellent, no swelling and almost all healed. She DID say that the dissolving stitch never dissolved and she snipped it out and that might be the reason he wasnt wanting to eat. I told her that he had no problem eating his treats and table food still, just not the cat food. She doesn't think it's nausea, and told me to give Mirtazapine on a regular every 3 days until he's back to normal. She also thinks it might be "food association" that since he's always had PAIN while eating blended cat food, that he may now be associating the cat food with pain, kinda a mind set. So, she did a COMPLETE bloodwork panel and urinalysis and I should have the results tomorrow. I am praying the surgery didn't do anything to his kidney functions and that his creatinine and bun still remain stabile. She said there was NO blood in his urine and his actual blood was of a nice red color, lol ? I hope so. He's acti ng fine, no issues there.
I personally think it might have been the stitch, I couldn't look into his mouth because he is a fiesty one. All in all, he has only lost 3 quarters of a pound in the 2 weeks since dental surgery, and with all of MY / HIS issues, ( assist feeding , etc) I think we are winning this battle, but slowley. Please say a prayer that the bloodwork comes back dedecent.
      Thank You !
