enalpril ? and cancellation of Oreos dental surgery
Last sat Oreo was scheduled to have both his infected canines removed. I was worried and wanted to be proactive and asked for a pre surgery ekg, that morn. The cardiologist said DO NOT ANESTHETISE THIS CAT. He said he was Tachycardic and some other things. I was so upset and thankful I decided to do the one extra test. This secondary vet put him on enalpril 3 months ago, .25mgs to take pressure off his kidneys (crf) even though his bp was close to normal. What I want to know is, do u think the enalpril has caused this recent issue? He's had cardiomyopathy since he was 6 weeks oold and now 16, with NO change. He had a fairly normal ekg in feb. This cardiologistt said to get another echo, which I will be doing with his primary, the vet specialist.we are still blending his food and he is eating fine, his swelling of his teeth have gone down with the antibiotics. His kidney levels are stabile at 3.5 creat and bun at 51. Phos normal. All other levels normal range. Thank you for your input. The vet did a urinalysis and afew other tests. Getting those results today. His heart rate has vbeen normal since I've had him home. It was 240 the day of surgery.
