The story you tell is one that many of us have been through... diagnosis of a
eart murmur, don't think much of it... and then tragedy. My cat was diagnosed
t age two with a heart murmur and we were told it would likely reduce his
ifespan. We figured that meant he would live to be 12ish. We began giving him
aily heart meds. At age 4.5 he went into full heart failure. He threw a clot,
nd was paralyzed in his hind legs. Then he began suffering from pulmonary
dema (water in the lungs), which it sounds like your little baby had. To think
e had front and rear paralysis, and fluid in the lungs, you did the right
hing. Time is the only cure, and these type of wounds leave deep scars.
