      Sorry to hear about Winston. It is important to remember that once
      a cat experiences congestive heart failure, they are always considered
      CHF kitties, unless there is some reversal of heart disease. A recurrence
      of fluid is usually referred to as decompensation.

      Many kitties do well with smaller doses of lasix throughout the day rather
      than one large dose once a day. The effects of lasix in kitties last only 6-8 hours.

      My cat went in and out of episodes for 6 months. Sometimes she went through
      periods that were better than others. Once she was stabilized on a particular
      dose of lasix these were adjusted as needed based on her respirations. Eventually
      we went to 3x/day lasix.
