      Hi,
My cat Cokko is on lasix for his heart. At the age of six months
he was coughing and straining to breath. I rushed him to a 24 hour
clinic. The diagnosis was that he had fluid around his heart and in
his lungs. They drained the fluids and put him on antibiotics. At that
time it the vet said he I could loose him but he did a turn around. On
a return visit he was diagnose with hardening of the heart muscle. He
takes .4ml of ( liquid furosemide twice daily Lasix). This was
adjusted three time before the vet was comfortable with his current
dosage. and he also takes diltiazem 30mg twice daily, this a calcium
      channel blocker.
Cokko's condition is caused by his heart
Both of these drugs are for people treatment. I get the scripts
filled at my local Walgreen's and are under forty dollars a month to fill.
Cokko is a male Seal Point Himalayan It has been a year since
this has occurred and he is doing fine.
I can send you his medical treatment from a year ago if you would like
to compare it compare it with Boo Boo.
Your vet seems to be raking you on his fee's. I live in the
Buffalo, NY area. The cardiologist is only one of two heart
specialists in this area and his charges are no where near of what you
are paying this includes all his fees and all procedures that was
      given to Cokko.

      Wish you the best.
