        Angelique,

Lovenox is an anti-clotting agent (aka "blood thinner"). When the heart is
enlarged, it doesn't push all of the blood through the chambers. The blood
that sits in the heart tends to form clots and if they pass into the
vascular system, they could cause blockages and kill or paralyze the cat.

Lovenox, the drug plavix and the enzyme nattokinase all help to prevent clot
        formation.
