- Sam has been on pills,of one sort or another, since 1992 and she is a angel about taking them.....If i don't grab her but just just put her head back she will sit quietly and just let me do it!!! She is so good..Carole

I found a trick with the 1/4 Atenolol....it was so small I sometimes feared
Widgie spit it out and I wouldn't know. I take a very small piece of bread
(whole wheat of course) and mold it around the little piece of pill,
moistened a tad if needed to make it doughy. You then have something the
size of a regular pill (the size of an amoxicillin...a bit bigger than the
original atenolol.) When I pill Widgie, it goes right down no problem and I
can tell for sure she didn't spit it out.
another suggestion if you need to give 2 tiny pills...you can get empty
gelatin capsules at the pharmacy or health food store. I think it was size
4...a very small cap. Put the tiny pills inside and give the cap. You can
also find these caps on the internet...don't have the link now.
