      Joan,

      Although not the best indicator, you can try pinching the skin on the back
      of the neck and see if it bounces back quickly. If it doesn't bounce back
      but stays pinched then Frostie may be dehydrated. Also, are the gums slick
      or tacky? Tacky is an indicator of dehydration and slick is good. Is he
      feeling OK otherwise, i.e. eating, drinking, cleaning himself? These are all
      good things that you want him to be doing.
