      It was very frustrating. There was nothing specific wrong with Pepper -
      just that she wasn't "right". She had less energy, but I don't ever
      remember anything specific other than that. She did have open-mouth
      breathing after a vet visit that I attributed to stress. She didn't do it
      again until about a year later when she went into CHF (misdiagnosed as
      pneumonia). It was another six months later that they finally figured it
      out. In between those two episodes she had major surgery to remove a tumor
      from rabies vaccinosis. I'm SO lucky she is still with me.

      Now I know to be more observant of what symptoms an animal is showing and
      push to see a specialist if my regular vet can't figure it out.
