Firstly thanks everyone who replied to my post - it was just what I
      needed to hear.

Saw the vet today and got from them the name and details of one of
the top specialist cardiologists, who works out of a specialist
veterinary hospital with the best intensive care facilities, 24 hour
observation and all the range of top equipment. I have booked an
appointment for Pascal there tomorrow morning, have him checked in
to stay and will drive him up myself.

Spent much of the day with Pascal - generally he was on very good
form - eating ok, purring some times. Feels pain when I move him -
am wondering if something more than the clot, but will get him x-
rayed tomorrow just in case. Left leg improving, but right leg still
cold, black pads, and now am not sure there is any pulse at all.
Have not seen him defecate, but does pee ok. Feeling slightly more
hopeful now that at least have some control of the situation.

Does anyone know if now after 4 days it is too late to hope for the
      right leg to improve ?

Thanks again everyone - I will update the site when any change.
