      Hi,
First thanks to all of you for the support and advice you gave me on
Cernunnos' death and Dartagne's diagnosis. Especially Erin, Lisa,
and Sara who sent me such nice supportive messages and I know you
are all dealing with problems of your own. I can't access the yahoo
group from the school I work at and I don't have the internet at
home, so the delay in responding is because I have to wait until I
      get to the public library.

Dartagne saw the specialist last Monday and had the ultrasound. He
was so nervous and trembling so much that I was afraid he'd have a
heart attack on the spot. But he did fine and they said how good he
was. The specialist said that the things look pretty good (mind you
I never hear those words at the vet so I was skeptical). But he said
that at this time there is no sign of structural damage to the
heart. There is a persistant murmer and with the genetic
predisposition Dartagne will be back for another ultrasound in
February. Until then we don't need any meds including the aspirin.
The specialist said at this time there is no need for it. We are
relieved the test is over and I guess cautiously optimistic that
perhaps with Dartagne the disease may have been caught in time to
      help him.

The final autopsy report came in on Cernunnos and as expected HCM
was confirmed. The report also stated that although it isn't
conclusive we were probably dealing with a blood clot that caused
his death. We picked up his ashes Tuesday night and when we brought
the urn home Dartagne jumped up to where it was and sniffed at it
for a few moments. Maybe it was his way of saying goodbye to his
      brother.

Thanks again for being there for me,
      Michele
