carefully controlled diet which seems to be working -- with RCM and
possibly other endocrine problems (Cushings), so I'm dealing with some
of the same issues as you are. Pele is on Lasix twice a day,
Enalapril daily, Digoxin every other day, and an aspirin every three
days. So far she hasn't had any glucose elevations or renal problems
because of the heart medications. The really odd part is that her
diabetes seemed to go away after starting Lasix. I don't quite
understand it, but the proof is in the glucose numbers (and the
significantly drier litterbox) so I'm not complaining.
She can also be a difficult patient; I spike her food with meds
because pilling her usually results in bloodshed and horrible stress
on both sides of the situation. I've noticed that the meds seem to be
best absorbed into her system when administered with a low/no fiber
food, like fish.
