I just wanted you to know that there are prayers going out for Gus. He sure is a handsome guy. My Tiger is an orange tabby, but without any white. Almost exactly the same weight. He has HCM. Take care of you both. By the way, your web site is really special.

Hi, thanks for all your ideas on the heart surgery, etc. Our reg
vet called today and I asked her about it. She said it would
probably be more experimental and Gus would most likely need a
transplant because of his heart being so enlarged. She said if
anyone would know about it, it would be Angell Memorial Animal
Hosp., where we take Gus, and I would think our cardio would've
      brought it up already...?

Anyway, the reason she called is because she thinks that Gus might
still have some pulm. edema after all (after comparing monday's x-
rays to March's). Also, there is this peculiar white line outlining
his heart and she isn't convinced it's not pleural eff. She spoke
to our cardio today who has not seen the x-rays yet but decided to
put Gus on Spironolactone (1/4 25mg tab 1x/day) since the lasix is
just about at the max dose. She also set us up w/ some inj. lasix
for emergencies. We s/b hearing from her by friday on what our
cardio says and then we have to bring Gus back in 10 days for bld
work. I'll keep you posted when I hear more.
      Trying to stay positive,

      -Steph
