      Hi

Steroids are not good for cats with heart disease. They can increase the
amount of fluid into the lungs and start heart failure. There are several
cats on this list who presented with heart failure when they were given a
steroid injection. However, if there is no other choice but a steroid, it is a
balancing act. My Tess had HCM and severe arthiritis and other problems.
She had to have daily steroids. But without them her quality of life would
have been poor. So unless it is vital, avoid steroids completely.
