      I am sorry to hear CHarlie is poorly. Sometimes the first signs of heart
      disease is unfortunately crashing into CHF, and that needs to be controlled
      as the vets are doing. Prognosis is variable and many heart cats live for
      many years with severe HCM, including mine who outlived their diagnosis!

      Sadly HCM is known in Maine Coones, and you may wish to contact the breeder
      if you get a definite diagnosis. There is a genetic test available now,
      but it wasn't available six years ago.
