  • A very sad day yesterday. In addition to Bert and Steve, Graham Dilley died yesterday. Not known in America Graham Dilley was a cricketer of some note and participated in one of Englands greatest victories over the Aussies. I saw Bert on a couple of occasions, once playing solo, and once as part of Pentangle who reformed about 5 years ago for a number of shows. I guess I don't need...

  • As well as Wolverhampton, I also saw Mark play in Brighton just before Christmas. No mention of AMC at either show. Perhaps, more significantly, over the 2 shows he only played 3 new songs. Maybe there are more new songs out there but as Carl says they don't do anything quickly. Andy marlowe5 wrote: > > Any word on whether the AMC "comeback" is still in play or over? > > Tom...

  • Didn't see this show, but saw a show ealier in the week. Wolverhampton on a wet Monday with only 40 people or so there. I agree with the reviewer, he should be playing to many more. Still, a wonderful show with Mark in fine form, laughing and joking and really being quite slick in his presentation. One worrying occurence. Towards the end of the evening he started talking about...

  • Thanks. Never heard of the Dambuilders and the comparisons don't sound too promising. May go anyway just because Chris Brokaw is there. Irritatingly the show on the following night has a Chris Brokaw set in it. Andy Chris Hill wrote: > > >From: andyb240658 > > > >Anybody know of this guy. Jason Victor plays guitar and there are vocal contributions from Steve Wynn and Linda Pitmon amongst others. Wynn also co-wrote one of the songs with Fisher. It's classic WGC, loads of trumpet and fiddle, and Fishers distinctive voice still...

  • OK, thought I'd throw this out. What a brilliant year for music. When I came to figure out a top 20 I found 40 cds worthy of mention. Managed to reduce it a bit, hence a top 30 list. To be honest on another day I'd probably have a different list, although the top 5 would remain unchanged. 1. Oakley Hall – Second guessing/Gypsum strings, my favourite new band. Velvet Underground...
