Not too much of note out this year yet, YMMV of course. From the
US. Iron and Wine plus Jim White stand out.
From the U.K. the only release I could recommend is Adem -
_Homesongs_. This is a really nice understated release which kind
of sounds like James Yorkston, Badly drawn boy and quieter
Sparklehorse moments. Adem is Adem Ilhan who plays in post rock
experimentalists Fridge with Kieren Hebden (Fourtet). He plays most
of the instruments himself and recorded it himself as well.
Coming to terms with Richmond Fontaine, Charlemagne and
Magnetic fields at the moment. Will be purchasing Electralane,
Honeychurch, Salako and Marble Sheep shortly.
Andy, back from the south coast and a wonderful AMC show
